Creativity in every nook and cranny
Derbyshire Makes took over the town of Bolsover at the weekend for a celebration of making, all programmed by Junction Arts.
The Creative Women's Network, organised by Platform Thirty1, based at the Parish Rooms led workshops including Paper Quilt Making, Shattered Glass Patchwork Picture making, Cyanotype photography, Acrylic Pouring, Keyring Craft Making and even repurposing socks to create animals toys.
Maggie Cooper ran Willow Weaving workshops at Old Bolsover Yard resulting in the creation of a large tree. In the Library, visitors made jewelled buckles with Lise Bennett and personalised badges, and the Cultural Corridor created a pop-up cinema showing films about the town and surrounding areas.
In the stunning surroundings of Bolsover Castle, visitors built dragons and contributed to a large-scale Lego installation celebrating the town's heritage with The Brick Consultant.
In the town centre, visitors were treated to the Teenage Market and teenage buskers, making the mythical creatures, Boggarts in the Makory with Sophie Gresswell and following the Lantern trail. There was also banner making with Ursula Rae and Dare to Dream workshops with Christine Thomas and Sue Reddish.
