Surprise live performances and a giant playground
Surprise live performances at Glossop station will lead commuters down to Norfolk Square as the Derbyshire Makes festivities come to the town. The square itself is set to be transformed into a giant playground - hosting free, family activities during the day and making activities for adults in the evening. Elsewhere, puppeteer Fenn Bartels and artist Deb Pitman will be exploring the rare nesting habits of swifts with a conversation between a lazy cat and the world’s fastest bird in level flight. Artist Clare Savory will be plotting a sound map of Glossop and hosting an immersive sound tapestry developed in workshops. Artist and storyteller Gordon MacLellan from Creeping Toad will be investigating the lost stories of Glossop through story making and giant pop-up scenes. Discover digital art through VR headsets with Film Cuts Club, film screenings, and the Glossop Hub Trail that connects everything together.
Programmed by High Peak Community Arts.
