Be inspired by Swadlincote's industrial heritage
Hop on the Makory Bus! Our huge, branded bus rolls into town to host Swad-born artist, Jenny Stevenson, who will be delivering a series of workshops inspired by our local heritage across the two-day festival.
Saturday
Folded Paper Building - In this hands-on drop-in workshop, create a folded paper building inspired by the area’s potteries, collieries, and pipeworks.
Sunday
Make an Industrial Shadow Box - Create a layered industrial scene inside a shadow box, inspired by Swadlincote’s rich heritage of coal mining, pottery and pipeworks.
The Makory bus will be stationed on Swadlincote's High Street on Saturday and at The Delph on Sunday.
Jenny Stevenson is a mixed media collage and book artist based in Derby, UK, whose work explores the intersections of memory, architecture, and community. She creates layered, textured works that evoke narratives of place and the passage of time.
